Unemployed Professors Overview
The name "Unemployed Professors" has an excellent ring to it but it begs the question, "Are they real professors or is it just part of their marketing ploy?"
As I dug into their website, I found out that, yes, there are indeed some real professors doing god's work for students in need – and they even claim to have Ivy League graduates in their team as well. They have been around since 2011, which means they're doing something right to be able to stay in business this long.
At a glance, you'd expect this company to be formal, but they're actually very casual. While working on this UnemployedProfessors review, they continue to amuse me with their sense of humor, especially when marketing their writing services and getting the interest of customers. But is this more than enough for my readers to give them a shot?
Read on to find out.
Types of Services
UnemployedProfessors' services can be divided into:
- Writing services
- Edit my college essay services
- Dissertation and thesis services
- Admissions / Common college application services
- Assignments
- Resume services
They claim to have Master's and Doctoral level experts in their team, many of whom specialize in various academic discplines. As what they said, "As long as it's legal, we can write pretty much anything."
Basically, they're saying they have all the custom academic writing solutions a student will ever need to complete their projects. Even job-seekers can benefit from them, since they offer resume services.
Pricing System
The first thing you need to know about UnemployedProfessors.com, is that they are a bidding platform. This means that customers are given the chance to pick the most qualified writer from a pool of bidders. But since there's no fixed price for their writing services, there's no pricing system to speak of.
Prices range from $10 to $35 per page, depending on the writer's level. From their order form, I have the option to choose from 3 levels: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
- Gold-level writers are new to UnemployedProfessors but have extensive writing and teaching experience.
- Platinum-level writers have been with the company for a long time, with high customer satisfaction scores and repeat clients.
- Meanwhile, those who prefer only Diamond-level writers to bid on their orders can expect the finest work available. These are professors who have been with UnemployedProfessors since the beginning, with thousands of successfully completed projects and unmatched customer satisfaction ratings. But remember, the better writer you want, the more money you'll have to shell out.
VIP services
For VIP treatment, you can pay an extra $12. This means getting your own Personal Supervisor who's available 24/7 to address any queries or disputes you may have. You'll also have to pay another $18 for a plagiarism report, which for me, is completely unnecessary.
Why? Because to begin with, anyone would expect a completely original, plagiarism-free paper from them! End of story.
Test order
Obviously, I test-ordered to see just how efficient their bidding system is. To my disappointment, there almost weren't any bids for my 3-page essay order. In fact, I only got 1 bid after waiting for over half an hour. Whatever the reason may be, there's only one outcome to this: UnemployedProfessors can't always guarantee to get your paper delivered quickly, if at all. So if you're in a rush, you might as well look elsewhere.
Promo codes?
Folks who are looking to save cash from their order may be in for more disappointment. I looked for promo codes I could use but I couldn't find any, except for their refer-a-friend program (which I'm going to talk about in detail later). Pretty neat, but not as attractive as the promos offered by other websites.

Who Are the Writers?
From their site, Unemployed Professors claims to have retired professors and graduates from renowned schools. Anyone caught with false qualifications will be banned from working for them. Curious as I am, I did my own research to see if I could back up their claims.
From their roster of writers, I found that they currently have about 55 active writers, many of whom have successfully completed over 100 projects, respectively. This is pretty convenient in a way that customers can easily request for a specific writer if they don't want to be bothered with the bidding process – although this may come at a hefty price.
Of course, not everything's spick-and-span with UnemployedProfessors. My issue is that, while they do have a lot of experienced writers, many of the profiles I found have 0 projects to their name. They're also quite elusive when it comes to the real identities of their writers. While some have vague information on their profiles, others don't even have information on their educational background, like this one here.
But with a quick web search, I discovered that approximately 23% of their audience comes from Kenya (by SimilarWeb). I have reason to believe these are some of their writers. It's a relatively big percentage if we take non-native English writers into account, although I'm hoping the rest of their team are indeed natives.
Additionally, there's no mention of their degrees, and even their country of origin. This is important for me and for many other customers, particularly those who may need a native English writer to work on their project.
Guarantees and Policies
Copyright and Personal Use Prerogatives
For everyone's peace of mind, UnemployedProfessors does provide customers the transfer of copyright associated with their ordered paper. This applies to every paper written by their writers, originally produced for a customer.
Likewise, customers should remember that each ordered paper is not intended for "non-commercial, reference-based" use. Even if they own copyright to the work, UnemployedProfessors doesn't encourage using the paper to fulfill a course requirement.
Plagarism-Free Zone
UnemployedProfessors guarantees 100% original papers on all orders. But just as they don't tolerate plagiarism, they expect the same from us customers.
As such, they reserve the right to cancel contracts and agreements with any customer who attempts to commit plagiarism using their service. Once you agree to the terms, you, the customer, are solely responsible for any and all discplinary and legal actions that may arise from unethical and/or illegal use of their written materials.
Money-Back Guarantee
One peculiarity with UnemployedProfessors stems from refund requests. They don't have a money-back guarantee in place. In short, customers are not subject to refund under any circumstance, due to the time associated with writing a paper.
Any customer has the right to request for a refund if they have reason to believe the paper they receive doesn't meet their requirements. And even if the client and writer agree that some of the guidelines haven't been met, the client is only entitled to a partial refund. This for me, is quite absurd, even if they guarantee 100% customer satisfaction.
Revisions
If you're not completely satisfied with your ordered paper, you'll be in for more disappointment because UnemployedProfessors doesn't have a clear revision policy in place. Yes, thay claim that if a paper does not meet initial guidelines, the writer will fix it as long as it falls within the original scope of the project. But I believe they should provide a more detailed revision policy. Whether or not this was intentional on their part will remain a mystery but for now, I can say this is a red flag because customers won't be assured they'd receive the best-quality paper from them.
If you still want to continue doing business with them, make sure the paper is according to your requirements before you approve the order. Otherwise, you're on your own!
Payment Methods
Payment options will only appear on the form once you get to choose a writer from the pool of bidders. UnemployedProfessors accepts payment via major credit cards like Visa and MasterCard. Additionally, they accept payment via PayPal. This is pretty convenient and all payment methods are safe and secure to use.
Is Unemployed Professors Legit/Ethical?
UnemployedProfessors has a pretty funny clapback to all the naysayers who think hiring professional writers is illegal or unethical. They couldn't have said it better: "If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound? Only you can answer that question."
We're talking about professors who are fully aware the academic system is already so corrupt, they don't even need the help of custom writing services to make them look worse as they already are. Their point is that they only offer their services tailored to a student's needs. They're transferring copyright over their work, in exchange for a fee. The customer is free to do whatever they want since they're technically the copyright holder. It's a win-win situation that benefits all parties.
Referral Program
As mentioned earlier, UnemployedProfessors has a referral program for customers to take advantage of. Simply refer a friend to their site and if they use any of their services, you'll receive $10 free on your next order. Not as juicy of an offer as in other websites, but it's better than nothing. Right?
Online Reputation
The website has been officially listed on TrustPilot, a reliable third-party review site. At the time of writing, UnemployedProfessors has received approximately 86% ‘Excellent’ ratings. Verified customers are generally pleased by the company’s ability to produce professionally written academic papers on time and with minimal need for revisions; on top of having great, knowledgeable, and responsive customer support representatives.
Client testimonials vary greatly, especially at Reddit. There are plenty who praise them for a job well-done, but there are also those who believe they got scammed. Some of the reviews, however, appear biased. The site owner himself said it: They only employ writers who hold degrees, which should translate to quality work.
Meanwhile on sites like EssayScam, the Unemployed Professors reviews are pretty much mixed. The most common complaints are mainly about the quality of papers they deliver.
One customer even complained about receiving a paper that's so low in quality, it's filled with grammatical errors and broken English. Another common complaint is that the company is said to spread fake reviews and customer feedback to make them appear good.
Speaking of fake reviews made by competitors, there's some truth to these claims because I did find plenty of fake reviews from fake review sites, such as:
- http://ratedbystudents.com/services/unemployed-professors
- https://edureviewer.com/services/unemployedprofessors-com-review/
- https://www.toptenwritingservices.com/unemployedprofessors-com-review/
- http://www.topwritersreview.com/reviews/unemployedprofessors/
- https://studydemic.com/unemployedprofessors-com-review/
- http://writingservices.reviews/reviews/unemployedprofessors
This is a major turn-off for me. Spreading false information puts a major strain on UnemployedProfessors' reputation as a trusted writing service. Because of this, I suggest you tread carefully when doing business with them.
On the other hand, they appear to be very active on social media, like on Facebook and Instagram. They even respond to questions and comments, so this is probably one of the best ways to get in touch with them and see what others are saying about them.
Does UnemployedProfessors Work?
Yes, just like any other trust custom writing service. UnemployedProfessors has been in the market for many years, which is saying a lot given how fast companies of this type run out of business if they don’t offer quality services.
Is Using UnemployedProfessors a Form of Academic Cheating?
It depends on how you use it. UnemployedProfessors has made it clear that ordered papers are to be used only as an additional research material or reference to further a student’s learning. Any other purpose beyond this may be considered a form of cheating and is within the student’s discretion.

Our Verdict
Taking into account other Unemployed Professors reviews and customer feedback online, I conclude that this website is legit. They offer quality, affordably priced services that check out as what they originally claim them to be.
Of course, the company is not without its faults. The quality of their papers vary from writer to writer. Also, I can't blame others for thinking they're a scam. Honestly, they don't have to go to such lengths because based on students' experience, they are able to deliver a paper that's within their expectations. They're a student-centered writing service and there couldn't be a more qualified team of writers than UnemployedProfessors' team. I'd recommend them, but with reservations.
