The company offers competitive prices and attractive discounts that would keep the customers coming back. But the real problem with this company lies in their background and reputation, as well as their almost nonexistent money-back guarantee.

In this 5StarEssays review, we're going to find answers to some nagging questions: What is their relationship with another website called SharkPapers? Is there any chance I could get my money back if I'm not happy with their final output? And most importantly, is 5StarsEssays legit? It's time to find out.

5StarEssays' website doesn't come with a dedicated page for the list of services they offer. Instead, you'll find them only when you fill out the order form.

The company is fully focused on writing academic papers from scratch. Some of the document types their writers can work on include, but are not limited to:

The price of a paper depends on your chosen academic level, complexity, deadline, as well as additional features. Each page consists of 300 words and customers can choose from standard academic project styles and format (MLA, APA, CMA, etc.).

The website has average market prices. But if not for the discounts currently being offered, they could be one of the most expensive essay writing services in the market. With their so called "limited-time 50% discount" which is a marketing trick, the current price for their papers range from $14 to $40 per page.

Expect to pay up to 15% extra “composition fee” for other formats like screenplays, PowerPoint presentations, and theorems.

One unique offering is that the site gives clients the option to prepay up to 50%. Simply put, they can pay half of the total cost upfront, and the rest after the writer delivers the final draft.

Deadline Issue

According to the website, 5StarEssays offer rush services, meaning you can order a paper and have it delivered to you within the day. They claim to be able to finish a paper within 12 hours or less, which is good news. But as I dug deeper, I discovered that there's a caveat for orders with extremely short deadlines.

For instance, if I request them to do my paper in 3 hours, it may incur a surcharge. This is understandable, since the writing process of rush papers can be intense and time-sensitive. However, they're not always the best service for rush orders. And they can be pretty expensive, too.

Guarantees

The part where 5StarEssays truly flops, are there guarantees. It's disappointing because these are important for a customer's peace of mind, in case they're not satisfied with their writer's output.

Refund Policy

If you're not happy with the paper, you need to be assured that the company can give your money back either partially or in full. No matter how confident a writing service is about delivering top-quality papers, they still need to put a proper money-back guarantee in place for their customers' peace of mind.

But it's different with 5StarEssays. Nothing about refunds is set in stone and from their Terms and Conditions, they're clearly stating that all their services/products are non-refundable, with no warranties, expressed or implied.

In fact, a refund is almost out of the question. It can only be possible if the assigned writer fails to deliver your paper before the deadline. There's no talk about refunds for poor writing, which is alarming.

There are far better services out there that offer better terms for their customers, and 5StarEssays obviously isn't one of them.

Revision Policy

The company's revision policy is just as abysmal. They haven't clearly stated how many revisions a customer can request or if it's free at all. You can't expect to get your revised paper right away either, because 5StarEssays needs 12-24 hours for their writers to be allowed to process the revision. So if you need the paper much sooner, you'll be on your own!

Online Reputation

Relation to SharkPapers.com

From the moment you visit their homepage, you'll immediately be greeted by, not the company's name, but by a banner that reads: Powered by SharkPapers.com.

As we scoured the Internet, we failed to find any concrete proof that a service like SharkPapers exists. Instead, we found a bunch of fake reviews about it (which we will discuss further below). If you enter SharkPapers' domain, it will redirect you to 5StarEssays instead.

So what's the real deal?

Real Business Name

Here's an even more troubling piece of info. While this company seems to be able to deliver the products/services they promise, we couldn't find any real business name or registration connected to them at all.

At the time of this review, the only supporting detail we've found is that the website is managed and maintained by one Skyscrapers LLC. However, the company we found is in food business and has nothing to do with custom essay writing, as you can see here and here.

History & Country of Origin

From the site's Contact page, we found that the company has registered 4 addresses from different countries: US, UK, UAE, and Australia. And since these are physical addresses, it could be possible that they do have headquarters stationed in said regions.

Based on the date of domain registration, 5StarEssays appears to have been in business since 2017, but only started gaining traction in 2020.

Online Reviews

Surprisingly, 5StarEssay's overall reputation is good, considering the questionable company background and history. They're listed on trusted third-party review sites like SiteJabber and TrustPilot, but hasn't gotten the approval of discerning freelancers and students on Reddit.

The most common 5StarEssays reviews we've found is that many customers are pleased with how fast their writers can deliver quality work that almost don't require revisions or editing. However, we've also seen reviews from angry clients who are not happy about the lack of a money-back guarantee – which we're already aware of.

Digging further, we found a review on FreeEssayWriter.net that appears to be affiliated with 5StarEssays. We also have reason to believe that it's a twin website of 5StarEssays, which means it's owned by one and the same company.

Fake Reviews by Competitors

As if dealing with irate and unhappy clients isn't enough, the company also has to deal with fake 5 Star Essay reviews made by competitors. These sites spread negative reviews about their rival companies in an effort to drive away potential customers from doing business with them. Some of these fake reviews are the following:

The thing is, these sites are just as fake as the content they're spreading online. They're owned and operated by essay writing service companies that hype up their own services while bad-mouthing rivals like 5StarEssays.

Clearing Their Reputation?

While we couldn't find a homepage for SharkPapers, they surprisingly have customer reviews on SiteJabber and TrustPilot. The most ridiculous thing is that they continue to get reviews on TrustPilot up until today! Do you remember SharkPapers.com doesn't work and redirects to 5staressays.com?

Our conclusion? They are fake!

Reading through them, we found that they've received some bad reviews, with the most common complaint being non-native writers who fail to deliver quality papers as promised by the company and the absence of refunds. We're not saying that non-native writers are bad (in fact, many of them are just as good as the native writers), it's just that 5StarEssays claim to have only natives / ENL writers in their team. They need to get their facts straight.

Going back to the issue with SharkPapers, we could only conclude that, perhaps the reason they've made their domain redirect to a new site is because they've received far too many bad reviews on the old one. So instead of trying to redeem their reputation as SharkPapers, they've decided to restart with a clean slate – this time with 5StarEssays.

Our Verdict

Gathering all 5StarEssays reviews, we've found this service to be an ‘OK' alternative for students in need of a budget-friendly, beginner to intermediate level paper. In the end, however, we could only give them 3 stars out of 5. This is mainly because of their unfair refund policy, which isn't in favor of clients.
